The main advantage of the wood burning fire pit is that it is a "real" fire. By this I mean that wood fires smell like burning wood, they crackle and pop, and generally remind you of your campfire days. If you live in a wooded area or an place where it is easy to obtain wood, this may be the best option for you. The disadvantages are that wood produces quite a few pollutants (including carbon monoxide) when it burns. Copper Fire Pit
This type of fire pit is growing in popularity because it efficiently generates heat and provides a touch of elegance to any backyard space. Portable patio fire pits have certain advantages over the masonry fire pits. For example, a portable fire pit is less expensive than masonry fire pit. In addition, they allow you move them around if you decide to alter your outdoor design. If you are in a rent situation, you can take your fire pit with you when you move. Cast Iron Fire Pit
These fire pits are good for creating warmth on a patio or light cooking like roasting marshmallows.
